Old State Capitol - (225) 342-0500

The Old State Capitol is located downtown on North Blvd. This building is a historical piece of archetecture. When you visit make sure you go into the center of the building. It has the most beautiful stained glass domed roof. This is worth the visit itself. The Old State Capital offers tours of the facility as well as it rents the building out for weddings and receptions. We have gone to a couple of weddings/receptions here that were absolutely wonderful. The staff is very attentive here and the building is perfectly decorated. If you want to get your kids out of the house to do something free, take them to the hills in front of the capital. The hills are known throughout Baton Rouge for rolling down them. The kids will love this. They are HUGE!
