The Solar Heat is a band of brothers from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It has been said that “there is nothing like sibling harmony”; and when younger brother, Cody, is not lending his vocals to harmony, he shares time as a lead vocalist and has been frequently called“ Little John Fogerty” in music reviews because of his rough, deep voice and the passion and fire he sings with. The band has been playing locally for the past 6 years. The fact that the boys have covered over 400 songs from a wide variety of genres including classic rock, southern rock, country, blues, and alternative rock has helped them develop their current style of southern rock. Major influences have been Creedence Clearwater Revival and Lynard Skynard, and their influence is evident in C.J.’s guitar leads.
The band has become seasoned performers since they started playing publicly at such a young age. They have, also, played for numerous charity events for the United Way, American Cancer Society, and American Heart Association. They have, also, shared the stage with David St. Romain, Marc Broussard, Percy Sledge, and Big Luther Kent.
The band released their first CD of original music, entitled“On The Right Track” August 2008, and are currently working on their 2nd independent CD expected to be release summer 2009.
