La Printaniere Montessori Reviews

LaPrintaniere is a absolutely wonderful school. My daughter was three when she decided she loved to read. By first grade she was reading at a 5th grade level. But the child only gets the true education if they stay for a large portion of their elementary years. She went to the best elementary school and is now going to the best middle school Uhigh. The parents are very involved with the children and the have art, music, PE, and once a week they go the library and always go on many field trips. They simply make learning fun!

La Printiniere Montessori School was a great foundation for us! Our daughter attended pre-K and we were delighted with the care and expertise shown throughout the school. Suzanne Bassett is a charming and capable administrator; I once was with Suzanne and party to the most gentle and successful conflict resolution between two squabbling toddlers that I had ever seen. Teachers were kind and well-qualified, or on track toward that qualification. We were very involved and thrilled to be able to offer cross-cultural activities, as were other parents in other areas. Lots of music and art activities, didn't care about sports. This is how affected we were by La Printiniere: my wife has since become an internationally (AMI) certified 0-3 and 3-6 Montessori instructor. Daughter is now 8, intellectually curious, voracious high-level reader, above-average math and science skills, fully bilingual, well-adjusted and happy. La Printiniere set us on a wonderful path!

This school is wonderful. My childen have attended this school since they were 3. One is now 7 and the other is 11. Academically, the sky is the limit. Each child is encouraged to go as far as their mind takes them. My oldest child reads on a 9th grade level. My seven year old reads on a 5th grade level. My youngest has mastered multiplication and the oldest is working on multiplying fractions and numbers with decimal points. They are encouraged to research areas that interest them. They LOVE to learn. All children do... this school fostered that love. This year my oldest daughter is learning to play the recorder. She is so excited about it. There are no art classes per se, or sports programs however each child is encouraged to pursue any area that holds their interest. Parents are invited to participate in everything.

My best friend's pediatrician recommended this school. I have a 3 year old. I tried to check into the program by dropping in. No one answered the door. I was able to walk to the back yard without any security measures being present and stood unnoticed for in excess of 5 minutes while the staff/parents??? sat conversing amongst themselves. I was shown to the front exit once I announced my presence. I asked for a phone number and contact person to speak with before being told it was in the phone book. I called back and left a message but was not ever called back. I called two more times. Finally, someone returned my call. The application and documentation made available to me was unprofessionally prepared and inadequate.

This is a good school for Pre-K and K, but I do not recommend sending your child there for elementary. They do NOT have a good reading program there and they promote children to the next grade even if they haven't learned to read and write properly. Children have graduated 5th grade (as high up as this school goes) from this school and then been tested at middle schools and had to REPEAT 5th grade elsewhere. There is not an art program for the elementary, no music, and NO SPORTS. Parents are generally involved, there are a lot of sign-up sheets for parents to do holiday parties and teach appreciation gifts. We found the principal/owner hard to deal with. Buyer beware.
