St. Michael the Archangel High School Reviews

My child was placed here after the 05 storm and she has thrived here both academically and atheletically.

As a member of class of 2004, I can say without a doubt that my experience at 'Bishop' was gauntlet of tedious rule observation enforced by poor administration. The art and music departments are under funded and under staffed; while the team sports have thousands earmarked. As a result of chasing off teachers, they supplement this lack of teaching staff with Ace teachers (Notre dame college students). While there is nothing wrong with Ace teachers, it makes for a teaching pool devoid of experienced educators.

I am currently enrolled at St. Michael's. The administration is abnormally strict. The teachers are inadequate and not challenging. The football team gets all the money from funds while other activity's such as band, drama, and other sports suffer due to this. I strongly advise you not to go to this school.

I presently have a son who is a freshman attending St. Michael. He takes honors classes and finds most of them challenging and exciting. I also had sons who previously attended the school when it was named Bishop Sullivan. I can assure you, this is not the same school. The extracurricular activities are superb, the staff is extremely professional, the academic programs will definitely prepare students for college, and the level of parent involvement is outstanding. I highly recommend this school!

As a former student of Bishop Sullivan I feel as though this wasn't the best school to choose. The teachers did not challenge their students the least bit and I felt as though I was not being prepared for real life, the students are still 'babied' as they were in middle school. Another problem with the school was the student body and problems that I had encountered with some of the students. The faculuty did nothing to help with the problems at the school, they just ingored them.

I graduated from this school then known as Bishop Sullivan. The school lacked in all areas and I would consider a public school if looking for your teenager. I graduated from LSU and did well but not because of Bishop. Bishop's teachers did not motivated nor challenge students. Also the school was very uptight. Children should be able to enjoy school not be miserable.

Bishop Sullivan High School is a solid, well-rounded school with a majority of instructors showing a heartfelt concern for the students. My son is currently a sophmore and is in several honors classes. His teachers push his to think outside his normal boundaries. I highly recommend BSHS to anyone looking for a place their student can develop their social, moral and academic skills.

As a former student I would advise parents to pick another private school or save their money and go public. The academic program at Bishop Sullivan was subpar at best. I took all of the honors courses and did not find them challenging in the least. The science and math programs are extremely weak. The social science courses consisted of being baby sat by coaches. The school was not designed for bright students. If your child is the least bit intelligent please do not send them to this school. They will be bored and it will not prepare them adequately for college.

Bshs has been an excellent school for my daughter. We moved here from out of state. She had several high school credits before her freshman year.Bshs challenged her with honor courses and she is excelling. It is a small school,so it feels like family. It is coed, like life and i feel that it's important.
