Millerville Academy Reviews

I went to this school about 8 years ago and it was great. They had some of the best teachers out of all the schools I have gone to. Yes the principal walks around in shorts but I bet you everything I remember about history and geography I learned in his classroom. My English teacher was inspiring although she is not there anymore she was one of the best. Science was all hands on and really helped us learn but they always made sure we read our textbooks of course. Yes the discipline was something they were not big on, but well-behaved kids are not made by a stern disciplinarian they are a product of good parenting. I would send my kids there. It is a very special school and I wish I could have stayed longer.

This school has the worst environment for learning I have ever encountered. I removed my child from this school because of the lack of discipline and the lack of control in the classrooms. Not all of the teachers are even certified, which was kept from me when I asked at the beginning of the school year. There are no electives. Even the art teacher quit.

I am currently a student at MVA. Reading over the reviews I have noticed not many people have mentioned the new building. The small classes are great and you really get that one on one attention you need. The school does let a few of the kids (such as children of teachers and people who have close ties with the owner) get away with a lot more than the rest of us but it's something we have accepted. Every school has it's bad kids so if we judge the school on how well the kids are then are we really judging the SCHOOL? The teachers are wondeful and for the most part they all teach better than a lot of public school teachers. The bathrooms are INSIDE now so no need to worry about those being 'dirty' as someone so kindly put it. It's a great school and I recommend it.

This school is nice it has a great learning school.

I like the small class size, but even with that the teachers don't seem to be able to control the kids. Kids that have parents that teach at the school get treated better if a problem arises with that child and another child who does not have a parent teaching at the school. There is no real principal at this school, just a man walking around in shorts. I like the laid back feel of the school, but also discipline is very much still needed. The kids use bad language towards one another in front of the teachers, and not much is done. There are some really good teachers at the school, except a few, that cannot speak good English or need to retire. There are not many good activities for the kids, or sports. No music, arts or true extracurricular activities. My kids will not return.

I am attending this school for one more year and I couldn't be more happy about it. The teachers are great teachers but the school as a whole is slow. I am not happy with this school at all.

I am very unpleased with this school. The only good thing that I can say about the school is the wonderful teachers. The school is dirty, the bathrooms outside are nasty. I do not rate this school very good and my child will never return.

Small class size a plus; however, many of the classes move 'slow' and are not up to par and on the same level as their peers at other schools. Minimal discipline, a negative.

Excellent small school with a very diverse student population. I have 3 children enrolled and am very pleased with the challenge presented to the kids, accessibilty and interaction with the teachers and the friendliness of the administration.

If you are looking for a small, private school with a relaxed atmosphere this is the school for you. Under 15 students per class is a great plus. The teacher's and staff are very helpful. The teachers will go the extra mile if you ask for a little help.
