Christian Life Academy Reviews

I love ClA the teachers are awome I have been here for 3 years . thank you CLA!

I must say that CLA is a good school, I attended CLA for high school. I think it prepared me for college and help me to become a well rounded person. I graduated from college with a degree in Computer Science, I am now working on my Master's. The school could improve on hiring qualified teachers who really know there subject.

In response to the negative comments on July 8, 2008: I was one of the fourth grade teachers, and I can honestly say that I was well-prepared for each day. I have a BS in elementary education, and 18 years teaching experience. CLA has been a joy to me, and I have given a big part of my heart and life for the last 9 years to CLA. My question: Did you talk to me about the concerns you had? I wish you would have brought your concerns to us, so that we could discuss them together, not online. God bless.

In response to the criticism of the 4th grade teachers posted on July 8, and being a parent of a CLA 4th grader I would say this. The bottom line for me is the Stanford Achievement Test scores. For my son's home room the total math battery was level 6.9, almost 3 levels up. I know that the other subjects were above average as well. The environment at CLA is acedemic and disciplined yet caring which is something i fell most public schools lack.

I'm a parent of a child that attended CLA for several years. My husband and I loved the school and staff. We felt our child was safe at the school. During the 07-08 school year something changed at the school. The 4th grade teachers were not prepared to teach 4th grade. We, along with other parents complained that the teachers were not providing the instruction needed for the 4th grade. Our concerns were not addressed by the administration. It appeared that the school was no longer interested in providing a top education. The quality of education my child received was below average for the 4th grade. Use of technology by each teacher should be a requirement and it is not. The school has the potential to be a great school. CLA is in need of young fresh leadership.

I love God with all my heart and I'm a teacher at Christian Life in the lower elementary school. I love children and enjoy teaching and helping them excel. The majority of my students are two or three grades above level at the end of each year. The other teachers that I work with are also devoted to helping each child develop to his God-given potential. The children make outstanding academic progress and learn about Jesus in a nurturing atmosphere. I've worked in five different schools and have taught over twenty years. My children have all graduated from Christian Life and have graduated with honor from colleges and universities.

My son graduated from Christian Life and is a successful businessman - graduated from LSU. My daughter also graduated from CLA, has a master's in education and is a very successful educator. My granddaughter presently attends CLA and is receiving a quality education that will prepare her for any university that she chooses to attend. It is a very well balanced school that has certified teachers and is accredited with the Southern Association of Educators as well as the LA State Department of Education.

The administration is excellent. The standards are quite high and more advanced placement courses are being offered for the possibility of college credit. This school has had a very positive effect on my child who has been there for two years now. My child goes to a Bible class as one of his electives every other day. This is exposure to truth and principles that are hard to come by in our secular culture.

I went to school there for two years. The teachers are a hit or miss. Either they are horrible or awesome. Some are racist to the white kids. The teachers like to get in the drama at school. If a teacher does not like a student, they will send them out of the classroom even if they did not do anything.

School has potential to be great school. Teachers don't know the lessons. Principals don't care. Need more representation of minority in the staff. I was not prepared for college not the world.

The school's lower grades desire a lot of work. Teachers are not educated nor equipped to teach. Teachers are very nice to children. Teachers do not use websites and grades and tests are still given out in paper form. School should improve use of technolgy and seek to find certified and specialized teachers before they all students are transferred.

I was a student and if they would have focused more on academics than Jesus. I believe I would have done better in College but I still managed.

I have two kids at the school. My kids love the school. I love the approach of the school to focus on a wholistic child. They take their job seriously. The understand the important of academic, standardize testing and God in my child life.
