Parkview Baptist School Reviews

Weak academics and lots of politics. It's all about who you know on the school board and how much money you can donate to the school. I have been disappointed, and my child will be pulled out next year.

Parkview used to be a good school, but now the academics are weak, mainly because they cannot pay to hire qualified teachers. Many of their teachers are not certified or hold temporary teaching certificates. Discipline is weak and the kids/parents run the school. The board of directors and the church is too involved in the school, and it has become very political. Drugs, etc. are a problem among the students. The administration just turns a blind eye, and they are all puppets of the church controlled board of directors anyway. I pulled my kids out and they are getting a much better education elsewhere, without all of the political mess and controversy that has surrounded Parkview for the last several years.

I transferred from out of state a few years ago, and I've got to say that it was absolutely awful academically. Very unprofessional teachers and staff, very weak curriculum, the list goes on. The only people that I know who think this school is OK were people who had attended it for their entire lives and didn't know how much better schools are supposed to be. I know of no one who was sufficiently prepared for college after going to this school. Due to the excessively weak academics, students pick up bad study habits and cannot adjust after high school is over. The high school also had a drug problem that seemed severe in my time at the school. I highly recommend a different school if you're moving into the Baton Rouge area.

Both of my children attended Parkview and had wonderful experiences here. The education prepared both of them for successful experiences in college, and they both made lifetime friends. There have been many changes in the past couple of years and many positive results. I highly recommend the school.

Absolutely wonderful school for a mainstream child. Not a good place for kids with any type of learning difference or social disability. Submitted by a parent

I've been at parkview my whole life and I love it. I'll miss it very much when I graduate...everyone has become a family to me :)

I went to school at parkview from k-12. I enjoyed it there, and they made me into a responsible good person. The education could have been a little better but i think its a good school all around.

Awesome curriculum; AP courses; college prep school with great kids and teachers! A great swim team, band, football, basketball, wrestling, soccer, volleyball, etc! Lots to learn and lots to do!

Our daughter has been attending Parkview for 6 months now and we love it! She is in the '4's' class. They do so amny great activities both in school and on their field trips. Our daughter just loves it there. She is writing her name and learned all the days of the week her first day of school. We are very pleased.
