Dufrocq Montessori School Reviews

This school has consistently shown improvement in scoring according to Louisiana Statewide assessment. One of the fourth grade classes each year has a passing rate of 90%-95% on the leap each year.(This includes special education students as well). The fourth grade teachers come in early to help students who may need additional tutoring and they stay as late as 7:00pm in the evening assisting students who need additional instruction. The fourth grade teachers also spend most of their weekends providing assistance to inner city 4th graders who need additional help. I cannot see how anybody could say that the teachers are not genuine when they say they care about the students. I applaud this school an its teachers.

I have come to the conclusion that if this school would have been under the same leadership it was under three (3) years ago it would be a great school. I have found that most of the teachers are very bias on dealing with children of another race, and they are mainly teachers that are new to the system and have never dealth with someone thats not of their ethnic background. The kids at Dufrocq are inner city kids and sometimes you have to deal with these kids in a different way. You cannot treat all kids the same because every child has a different personality and a different background. I feel that teachers at Dufrocq put on a good show that they care about their students but they really don't they would just as soon have a student suspended then have to deal with them.
